Happy Church New Year!!!

The Ladies Book Study

The ladies are beginning a study of the book Close to Home: One Orthodox mother's quest for patience, peace, and perseverance by Molly Sabourin.  Tomorrow's first session will be at Rose Press' home at 7:45pm.  People can arrive any time after 7:30pm.  Rose's address is 1938 SW Westwood Drive.  Call her at 785-354-1010 if you need directions.

The Men's Book Study
In the next week or two, the men are going to begin studying St. John Chrysostom's On Marriage and Family Life during their Thursday night get-together.  More details will be forthcoming.  Keep an eye on the Calendar

Open House Food Preparation is Underway
We will be preparing Dolmades this Sunday following the fellowship meal.  These are labor-intensive and we need your help.  We need at least 15 people for this particular cooking session.  Please give us a hand if at all possible.  Thanks.

Parish Survey
We have received a few Parish Surveys back and the initial results are encouraging.  Our parishoners have some great ideas to share.

If you haven't completed yours, please do so as soon as you can.  If you did not get one or know of someone who needs one, you can e-mail Mike Press here and he will assist you.  Also, if you are interested in helping on the newly forming Parish Care Team, let Mike know.

Upcoming Feasts
Remember to check your calendars and set aside time for The Nativity of the Theotokos (Tuesday, Sept 8th - Vesperal Divine Liturgy Sept 7th at 6:30pm) and The Elevation of the Cross (Sunday, Sept 13th - Great Vespers at 6:30pm and Monday, Sept. 14th - Divine Liturgy at 6:30am).

The Wednesday Paraclesis
Remeber to set aside some Wednesday evenings to join us in this intercessory prayer to the Theotokos.  We have dedicated this service to the growth and well-being of Saints Peter and Paul Orthodox Church.

Parish Activities
Check the Church Calendar and Weekly Bulletin on-line for information on Parish Activities.  Last minute changes will be posted as soon as they are available.
